It is said that the youth of Badrikoppalu village were taking out a procession for Ganesh Visarjan. Meanwhile, when the Ganesh Visarjan procession was passing through the main road near a mosque in Nagamangala, stone pelting started on the procession from near the mosque.
Shops vandalized, vehicles burnt
After the stone pelting, the situation gradually started deteriorating and a clash broke out between two groups. The rioters vandalised shops and set vehicles on fire. The police tried to control the situation. Meanwhile, efforts were made to control the situation by calling additional forces from other districts.
