The thief was running away from the museum after stealing coins worth crores, but was caught due to just one mistake – Hindustan News Hub

Bhopal: With the intention of stealing from the State Museum in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a person hid in the museum building on Monday night, but despite all efforts, he could not escape from being caught. According to the information given by the police, he was caught on Tuesday morning while trying to escape with ancient coins. It is being told that the thief was running away with hundreds of years old ancient coins which are worth crores of rupees in the international market. According to media reports, the accused has been identified as Vinod Yadav of Gaya district of Bihar.

The thief made a big mistake after the theft

Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra said that this incident happened in the State Museum. He said that a person entered the museum before the closing time on Monday evening and managed to stay inside, but later the security personnel saw him in the morning and informed the police, after which the police reached the museum and arrested him. It is being told that after stealing the coins, in an attempt to escape, he jumped from a wall about 25 feet high and fell and got badly injured. The thief made a mistake that he could not estimate the height of the wall, due to which he broke his leg. The security personnel found him in an unconscious state and informed the police.

100 coins were confiscated from the thief’s possession

According to reports, about 100 coins of the Gupta and Sultanate eras were seized from the thief. Apart from this, ancient jewellery, utensils and other items were also found in his possession. The police have registered a case and investigation is underway. The value of the coins stolen by the accused in the international market is said to be around Rs 12 to 15 crore. After this incident, questions have also started being raised on the security system of Bhopal Museum because many ancient objects are kept here which are worth crores of rupees.
