There was a stir in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area on Wednesday evening due to falling of metal pieces. Local people informed the police about the incident. Local people suspected that these pieces fell from the plane. Police has asked for the investigation report of the plane regarding the incident. Police says that action will be taken in the matter after receiving the report. DGCA has ordered an investigation into the matter.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Meena said that some pieces of iron fell in Vasant Vihar area on Wednesday evening. At the same time, a flight took off from Indira Gandhi Airport for Bahrain. The falling of many pieces one after the other created panic among the local people. People thought that due to a technical fault in the plane, the pieces of the engine fell down. This caused panic.
The police was informed about the matter. The police investigated and recovered some suspicious pieces. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Meena said that the investigation report of the concerned plane has been sought. Only after the report comes, it will be known whether these pieces have fallen from the plane or not.
In fact, an emergency landing of an aircraft was declared at Delhi airport on Monday evening after the crew members detected some fault in the engine. The emergency landing of the aircraft was done successfully without any injuries to the passengers. The matter was also reported to the Delhi Police. Delhi Police also said that Vasant Vihar police station received a PCR call regarding ‘plane pieces falling’ at 9.30 pm on Monday.
This call came from Anuj Vihar in Shankar Vihar area. It was told that a plane had passed over his flat and metal pieces had fallen from it. The caller said that he has also informed the ATC. The caller showed the police personnel a small black metal piece.
ATC investigation revealed that Air India Express flight number IX 145 took off for Bahrain at 2048 hrs. The crew members detected some fault in the engine and the emergency landing of the said plane was done successfully at 9.10 pm, in which the passengers were not injured. After landing, Delhi Police received a PCR call. It is said that the technical team will find out whether the metal pieces belong to this plane or not.
