Why did you betray Anna Hazare? BJP got angry on Kejriwal’s question to Mohan Bhagwat

The war of words between former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the BJP continues. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday asked Arvind Kejriwal why he betrayed his allies like anti-corruption movement leader Anna Hazare and Kumar Vishwas. Countering the question posed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the rally, the BJP also asked him why he did not fulfill the promise of Lokpal?

Kejriwal, at his ‘Janta ki Adalat’ rally at Jantar Mantar here, sought answers from the RSS for the actions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and posed five questions to its chief Mohan Bhagwat. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said in a statement that there was no public participation in Kejriwal’s rally and it was a gathering of his party workers which flopped.

Attacking the former Delhi chief minister, he said that after 10 years of corruption and inefficiency under his government in Delhi, Kejriwal has lost the moral right to question other political parties and speak on corruption. Sachdeva said that the BJP is asking Kejriwal why he broke the trust of his allies like Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Shazia Ilmi and Kumar Vishwas, why he broke his pledge and formed an alliance with the Congress, why he did nothing for his ideal of Lokpal?

Delhi Congress president Devendra Yadav said Kejriwal, who has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the alleged liquor scam case, had blatantly lied and tried to play the victim card in front of a hired crowd. He said Kejriwal’s attempt to project himself as ‘hardcore honest’ at the rally was laughable. Yadav said if Kejriwal was honest and had not committed any corruption like the liquor scam, why did he quit the post of chief minister after coming out on bail?

During the rally, Kejriwal asked Bhagwat if he agreed with the BJP’s politics of targeting opposition leaders and governments by misusing central investigative agencies and inducting those leaders into the party whom its leaders termed as corrupt. He also asked the RSS chief how he felt about the BJP president’s alleged statement that his party does not need an organisation.
