Haryana assembly elections are near and the process of staking claim for tickets is going on. It is reported that many big leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party are staking claim for the ticket from Badshahpur assembly constituency of the state. However, the party has not announced the names of the candidates yet. In the coming two days, BJP is going to hold a big meeting for the candidates. Along with Jammu and Kashmir, the election results of Haryana will also be declared on October 4.

According to the Indian Express report, former Chief Minister and current Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s former OSD Jawahar Yadav, party district president Kamal Yadav and former minister Rao Narbir Singh are staking claim from this seat. The special thing is that this is also the largest seat in the state in terms of the number of voters. Badshahpur segment, one of the 9 seats falling under Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency, has 4.5 lakh voters.
The report quoted BJP estimates that Badshahpur has around 1.25 lakh Ahirs (Yadavs), 60,000 Jats, 50,000 Scheduled Caste members, 35,000 Brahmins and 30,000 Punjabis. Apart from this, there are also Gujjar, Rajput and Muslim voters here.
Why is there so much commotion in Badshahpur
According to the report, three candidates seem excited about this seat due to the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. In fact, BJP has secured the highest number of votes i.e. 1.2 lakh from this assembly constituency. The party had succeeded in winning 5 Lok Sabha seats in the state, including Gurgaon seat.

It is reported that Jawahar is claiming to have the support of the people due to his ‘development work’. On the other hand, Narbir claims that he has the support of the Sarpanchs. He also says that the maximum development took place in the area during his tenure as MLA. On the other hand, Kamal is claiming to have the support of Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh and BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) member Sudha Yadav.
However, Jawahar also says that he will continue working for the party no matter who gets the ticket. Talking to the newspaper, he said, ‘I have been working for the party for 37 years and have decided to contest the elections only this time. I believe in the ideology of the party, so I will continue working no matter who gets the ticket.’
What is BJP’s preparation?
Talking to the newspaper, a senior BJP leader said that 3-5 candidates have been shortlisted for most of the 90 seats. There is speculation that Daulatabad’s widow Kumudni may also contest as an independent candidate from the Badshahpur seat.
