Will Devendra Fadnavis get a shock? Close leaders may join Congress; hints given

As the assembly elections in Maharashtra are getting closer, the political stir is also intensifying. Many leaders have also started changing parties before the elections. Meanwhile, speculations of a leader close to Devendra Fadnavis leaving the party have intensified. This blow may come to him in his stronghold Vidarbha. Last month, former MP Shishupal Patel from Bhandara-Gondia Lok Sabha seat joined the Congress. Now there is speculation of a former MLA joining the Congress. He may return to the Congress this month.

Former MLA Gopaldas Shankarlal Agarwal has won the 2004, 2009 and 2014 assembly elections on a Congress ticket. Before the 2019 assembly elections, he joined the BJP and contested from the same seat. However, he had to face a crushing defeat. According to the information, he is angry as soon as the name of former minister Parinay Phuke was approved for the Legislative Council candidature to be elected by the Legislative Assembly members. He has also been the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Legislature. He has also been a member of the Legislative Council from Bhandara-Gondia Local Self Government constituency for two consecutive terms.

It is being said that there is no guarantee whether he will get a ticket from BJP in the assembly elections this time or not. In such a situation, he has become anxious to change the party. However, no information has been received from the party regarding the former MLA’s homecoming to Congress. Only his supporters are talking about his changing party.

Currently, there is an independent MLA from Gondia assembly constituency and he supports BJP. Even in such a situation, the former MLA does not see his future in the party. Let us tell you that seat sharing between BJP-NCP and Shiv Sena has not been finalized yet in Maharashtra. Sources say that an agreement has been reached on 173 seats. Talks are going on regarding the remaining 115 seats.
