Method to make Lauki Jabar
To make Lauki Jabar, first peel the bottle gourd, wash it and chop it finely. After that wash the rice thoroughly with water and then keep it soaked. Now turn on the gas and place a big kadai or cooker on it. When the pan becomes hot, add ghee in it and heat it. When the ghee becomes hot, add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds become light golden, add chopped bottle gourd to it and cook it. When the gourd is cooked well, add soaked rice to it. Now mix them well and stir for some time. After this, when the rice starts sticking to the cooker or pan, then add milk and salt as per taste and then cook it well. If kept in cooker then turn off the gas after 3 whistles.
