Because the ICC had already made it clear that out of the ten teams playing the ICC World Cup, those who finish in the top 8 will qualify for the Champions Trophy, whereas Pakistan, since it is the host, will automatically qualify. However, Pakistan is still at number five, so the team has already confirmed its place there.
