Who will win the Ranji Trophy title?

Ranji Trophy 2024 Final: The final match of Ranji Trophy 2024 is being played between the teams of Mumbai and Vidarbha at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Four days of play have been completed in this match. In such a situation, now the winner will be decided on the last day of the match. Mumbai is just 5 wickets away from winning this match. At the same time, if Vidarbha wants to win then it will have to score 290 runs on the last day of the game and it has only 5 wickets left, which is very difficult.

Vidarbha played well on the fourth day of the match.

Chasing the target of 538 runs to win, Karun Nair’s 74 runs and captain Akshay Wadkar’s 56 not out kept Vidarbha in the match at 248 runs for five wickets on the fourth day of the final. At the same time, Mumbai will have to wait one more day to win the 42nd Ranji title. Vidarbha, which was under pressure from the very first day, has got an impossible target to win. But its batsmen troubled the host bowlers by showing good play on the fourth day.

Karun Nair played a fighting innings

Nair, who joined Vidarbha at the beginning of this season, faced 220 balls and batted for 287 minutes. He lost his wicket on the ball of Musheer Khan. Musheer also bowled brilliantly after scoring 136 runs in the second innings. Captain Wadkar was playing on the fourth day after scoring 56 runs and Harsh Dubey was playing after scoring 11 runs. Wadkar hit six fours in his 91-ball innings. He added 90 runs in 173 balls for the fifth wicket with Nair. Vidarbha still needs 290 runs and has five wickets left.

Mumbai bowlers got only 5 wickets

Mumbai took two wickets each in the first two sessions and then Nair’s wicket in the last session. Mumbai tried everything on the flat pitch of Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai’s trio of fast bowlers and both the spinners tried their best to force the batsmen into mistakes. Vidarbha’s batsmen need to be praised for not giving up easily even in response to such a difficult target. Musheer took two wickets for 24 runs in 17 overs for Mumbai and was most effective. He dismissed Nair on an excellent ball. Tanush Kotian took two wickets for 55 runs. He sent Dhruv Shorey (28) and Yash Rathore (7) to the pavilion.
