India vs England Test Series: The Indian team won the series against England in a spectacular manner by 4-1. Young players from Team India performed amazingly. Whereas the Indian team lost the first test match. But after this, Team India made a strong comeback and won the series. The first match of the India vs England Test series was played on 26 January and its last Test match ended on 9 March. This series lasted for about one and a half months. 1. Indian player with most five wicket hauls
Ravichandran Ashwin performed amazingly against England. He took 26 wickets in the five-Test series. He was the highest wicket taker from both the teams. Due to his good performance, he has become the player with the highest number of five-wicket hauls from India. He has left Anil Kumble behind. Ashwin has taken 5 wicket haul 36 times in Test cricket. Whereas Kumble has taken 5 wicket haul 35 times in Test cricket.
2. Anderson completed 700 test wickets
James Anderson completed 700 Test wickets in his career in the India vs England Test series. He became the first fast bowler to reach 700 Test wickets. Anderson has become the third bowler in the history of Test cricket to take more than 700 wickets. Before him, Muttiah Muralitharan (800 wickets) and Shane Warne (708 wickets) have done this.
3. Yashasvi Jaiswal did wonders
Yashasvi Jaiswal performed strongly in the Test series against England. He won everyone’s hearts with his excellent batting. He hit a total of 12 sixes in an innings of the third Test match against England. With this, he reached joint first position in terms of hitting most sixes in an innings of a Test match. Wasim Akram has also hit 12 sixes in an innings of a test match.
4. England has lost the most test matches against India.
The England cricket team had to lose four consecutive matches against India. With this, the England team became the team that has lost the most test matches against India. England has so far lost 35 test matches against India, which is the highest. The Australian team has lost 32 test matches against India. The Australian team is at second position in terms of losing matches against India.
5. Indian team did this for the first time
The Indian team won the Test series against England 4-1. Team India had to face defeat by 28 runs in the first match. But after this the Indian team made a strong comeback and won four consecutive matches. Rohit Sharma has become the first Indian captain under whose captaincy India won the series 4-1 after trailing 0-1. Apart from India, Australia and England are the only teams who have won the series 4-1 after losing the first match. The Australian team has done this twice. The England team has done this once.
