A total of 20 teams will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup, know what the format of the entire tournament will be like.

Not much time has passed since the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 ended, while all the teams have started their preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 next year. This event, to be hosted by West Indies and US, will start on June 3 while the title match will be played on June 30. For the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, a total of 20 teams will participate, in which Namibia and Uganda have qualified from the African region as the last two teams. Whereas Zimbabwe team will not be seen playing in T20 World Cup 2024.

All the teams will be divided into four groups of 5 each.

In the T20 World Cup, all the 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five each, in which the top-2 teams from each group will qualify for the Super-8. After this, these eight teams will also be divided into two groups of four each. After this, the teams finishing in the first two places from both the groups will secure their place for the semi-finals. This time the T20 World Cup will be much bigger than before, in which teams from different regions will be seen playing. While major teams England, India, Australia, Netherlands, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka had qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 by occupying the first eight positions, Afghanistan and Bangladesh had made their places on the basis of T20 rankings.

Teams from Canada, Papua New Guinea and Uganda also made it to the team.

Talking about the qualifiers, Canada confirmed its place with the American qualifiers. Whereas Nepal and Oman were successful in reaching the qualifiers held in Asia. Apart from this, Papua New Guinea secured their place in the East-Asia Pacific Qualifier, while Ireland and Scotland secured their place in the Europe Qualifier and Namibia and Uganda secured their place in the T20 World Cup 2024 from the qualifier round held in Africa.
