Fast bowler Akash Deep has also been included in the Indian team announced for the last three matches of the 5-match Test series in England. 27-year-old Akash Deep plays for Bengal team in domestic cricket and has got a place in Team India’s Test squad for the first time. Earlier, Akash had got a place in the Indian team that went to play the ODI series in the Asian Games 2023 and then the South Africa tour. Akash gave his reaction for the first time after being included in the Test team in which he did not expect that he would be selected in the Test team so soon.
Akash Deep is surprised to be selected in Team India
Akash Deep, while giving his reaction for the first time after being selected in the Indian Test team, said that I was hopeful that if I continued to perform well, I would have been selected in the Test team in the near future. But I did not expect that I would get a place in the national team in the third match itself. Akash further said that there was no proper platform for cricket in Bihar at that time (due to suspension from the Indian Cricket Board), especially in Sasaram where I hail from, playing cricket was considered a crime there. Many parents used to tell their children to stay away from the sky. He doesn’t study and you will get spoiled by staying in his company. My father used to ask me to appear for the examination of Bihar Police Constable or Class IV employee in the state government. He used to fill those government job application forms and I used to go for exams and return after submitting the blank forms.
Akash reached Bengal with the help of a friend
Akash, who plays domestic cricket from Bengal, further said in his statement that my father and brother had died within 6 months. I had nothing to lose now. This was the inspiration that I had to do something because I had to take responsibility for the family. With the help of a friend, I got a chance to play for a club in Durgapur, West Bengal. I used to play leather ball cricket for my club. But initially there was no earning from it, so I used to play tennis ball cricket three or four days a month, which earned me Rs 6,000 per day. In this way I used to earn Rs 20 thousand a month. Let us tell you that Akash Deep made his debut in the IPL in the year 2022 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, in which he has played 7 matches for RCB so far and has taken 6 wickets in it. Apart from this, Akash has 103 wickets in his name in 29 matches in first cricket.
