India’s performance in the Paralympics held in Paris, the capital of France, was quite amazing. India has won a total of 29 medals in the Paralympics this time. Due to which India finished 18th in the medal tally. This has been India’s best performance in the history of Paralympics. Indian athletes have made India proud in the whole world. Let us tell you that the Government of India has announced prize money for these athletes.

Those who win medals in Paralympics will get this much money

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday announced a cash award of Rs 75 lakh for gold medal winners, Rs 50 lakh for silver medal winners and Rs 30 lakh for bronze medal winning Indian athletes at the Paralympics. Those winning mixed team events will get Rs 22.5 lakh. He made this announcement during an event organised to felicitate the medal winners. The Sports Minister promised full support to para-athletes to win more medals at the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.

India broke many records

Mandaviya said that the country is moving ahead in Paralympics and para sports. From 4 medals in 2016, India has won 19 medals in Tokyo and 29 medals in Paris and finished 18th. He said that we will provide all the facilities to all our para-athletes so that we can win more medals and gold medals in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. In the recently concluded Paris Games, Indian Paralympic players gave the country’s best performance by winning 29 medals including 7 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 13 bronze medals. India also crossed the mark of 50 medals in the history of Paralympic Games. Indian para athletes have returned home. On Tuesday, hundreds of supporters gave a grand welcome to the Indian Paralympic medal winners.
