Babar Azam AUS vs PAK Boxing Day Test: Former captain of Pakistani team Babar Azam once again returned to the pavilion after getting out cheaply. In the second test being played against Australia, Babar Azam could score only one run and was out. Babar Azam was playing his third Test innings after stepping down from the captaincy and in this too he did not score runs from his bat. Not only this, his bat has been silent for a long time in Tests. This is not a good sign not only for Babar Azam but also for the Pakistani cricket team.

Babar Azam got caught on Pat Cummins’ brilliant ball.

Babar Azam came out to bat on the second day of the Boxing Day Test being played between Australia and Pakistan in Melbourne. It was expected that he would play a big innings and put his team in a strong position, but it could not happen. He could only score one run on six balls when he was out on the incoming ball of Australian captain Pat Cummins. The ball passed between Babar Azam’s bat and pad and Babar Azam kept watching. Earlier, if we talk about the first match of this series, he scored 21 runs in the first innings and then 14 runs in the second innings. This was the reason why the Pakistani team had to face a big defeat of 360 runs.

Babar Azam had scored a century in Test about a year ago

Babar Azam’s last inning of more than 50 runs in a Test came about a year ago i.e. on 22 December. At that time the Pakistani team was playing a Test against New Zealand at home. During that time Babar Azam had played an inning of 161 runs. After this, he played the next match at his home also. But then when the team went to play Test in Sri Lanka under his captaincy, Babar Azam’s bat remained silent there too, which trend is still continuing.

Australia vs Pakistan match status

Talking about the Test match being played between Pakistan and Australia, Australia, batting first, had scored 318 runs after losing all its wickets in the first innings. In this, Marnus Labuschagne played the biggest innings of 63 runs, none of the other batsmen could cross the 50 mark. After this, when the Pakistani team came out to bat, Imam ul Haq was out after scoring only 10 runs. At that time the team’s score was only 34 runs. However, after this there was a good partnership between Abdullah Shafiq and captain Shan Masood. When the team’s score was 124 runs, Abdullah Shafiq’s brilliant catch was caught by captain Pat Cummins on his own ball. Now Babar Azam came to support the captain. He could score only one run. Due to the dismissal of Babar Azam, the Pakistani team which was looking somewhat strong, was in trouble. Where only one wicket was lost till 123 runs, there were three wickets till 131 runs. Pakistan still has a long way to go to match Australia’s runs.
