BCCI has announced the extension of the contract of Team India head coach and support staff. Recently there was a conversation between BCCI and Rahul Dravid and after this the extension of tenure was announced. BCCI President Roger Binny has said that Rahul Dravid’s vision, professionalism and efforts have been important pillars in the success of Team India. As head coach of the Indian cricket team, he is appreciated for not only accepting challenges but also rising through them. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that I had mentioned at the time of his appointment that there is no better person than Rahul Dravid to take over the role of head coach, and Dravid has proved himself again with his performances. Rahul Dravid and entire staff will remain intact
Till now, Rahul Dravid was the head coach, along with his support staff, Vikram Rathore was the batting coach, T Dilip was the fielding coach and Paras Mahambre was the bowling coach. Currently, when the T20 series is being played between India and Australia, VVS Laxman is performing the responsibility of head coach. But next month, when the series will be played with South Africa, Rahul Dravid will again be seen fulfilling his responsibilities. Earlier, news had come that BCCI had approached Ashish Nehra as the head coach for T20, but it is said that he refused. It was under the coaching of Ashish Nehra that Gujarat Titans won the IPL title once and the second time the team was successful in reaching the finals.
