Sri Lanka cricket team is going to be seen playing an important series with Zimbabwe early next year. For this, the preliminary squad has also been announced by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
Wanindu Hasaranga became the captain of T20 and Kusal Mendis of ODI team.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board has made it clear that Wanindu Hasaranga will take over the responsibility of captaincy for the T20 series to be held against Zimbabwe, while Charith Asalanka will be the vice-captain of the team in this format. If we talk about ODI, then the command of the team will be in the hands of Kusal Mendis and here the vice-captain of the team will be Charith Asalanka. That means Charith Asalanka has been given the responsibility of vice-captain in both the formats. A series of three ODI and three T20 International matches is to be played between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The ODI series will start from January 6, while the T20 series will be played from January 14. Its schedule was already announced. Now the team has also arrived. All the matches are to be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This series is going to be very important for Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
