Sri Lanka has appointed former Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed as the team’s fast bowling coach till the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Currently, 1992 World Cup winner Javed is working as the Director of Cricket Operations and Head Coach of Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

“We welcome Aaqib and believe his immense international experience, both playing and coaching, will help put our bowlers in good shape ahead of upcoming international tournaments,” Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Executive Ashley de Silva said in a press release. Which includes ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Aaqib Javed’s career
51-year-old Aaqib Javed has previously worked with the senior and junior teams of Pakistan and also with the teams of Afghanistan and United Arab Emirates. Under his guidance, UAE qualified for the 2015 50-over World Cup and also achieved ODI and T20 International status. Javed has taken 236 wickets in 22 Tests and 163 ODIs for Pakistan.
