Along with this, Jamal also made a special record as a Pakistani player.
Jamal became the first player to do so in test cricket for Pakistan.
In Test cricket, till now no bowler for Pakistan has taken 18 wickets in his debut series of 3 or less matches. By achieving this feat, Jamal has become the first bowler to do so for Pakistan in the Test format. Jamal had taken 7 wickets in the first match of this Test series, in which he took 6 wickets in an innings. After this, in the match played at Melbourne ground, Jamal took a total of 5 wickets in his name. Apart from this, he has now taken 6 wickets in the Sydney Test also. Jamal has taken 5 or more wickets in an innings twice in only 3 Test matches played so far.
Aamer Jamal became the second player after Imran Khan to do so for Pakistan.
Aamer Jamal was also amazing with the bat in this match, in which he scored 82 runs during the first innings of Pakistan team. With this, after taking 6 wickets, Jamal has now become the second player after former Pakistan captain Imran Khan to achieve such a feat in Test cricket for Pakistan. Imran Khan had achieved this feat in the Faisalabad Test match against India in the year 1983, when along with playing an innings of 117 runs, he had also taken 6 wickets.
Pakistan lost 7 wickets in the second innings
At the end of the third day of the Sydney Test match, Pakistan team had lost 7 wickets on the score of just 68 runs. At the time of stumps, Mohammad Rizwan was unbeaten on the score of 6 while Aamer Jamal was on the score of zero. Pakistan’s lead is now 82 runs. In this innings, Josh Hazlewood has so far taken 4 wickets for 9 runs for Australia. Apart from this, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Travis Head have also taken 1 wicket each.
