The last time Indian spinners took ten wickets on the first day of a home Test was in 1973 against England in Chennai.

Meanwhile, this is the first time in 56 first-class Test matches that spinners have taken all ten wickets in an innings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. In this match, Kuldeep completed 50 Test wickets and became the fastest Indian to reach this feat with the fewest number of balls bowled. After the match, Kuldeep revealed that he was getting drifts from both sides at the HPCA Stadium on Thursday, which helped him gain control. After stumps on the first day, Kuldeep Yadav said that I was using the drift well on both sides. I am very happy that we were able to bowl them out for 218 because it is a good wicket.
