Shubman Gill Injury Update: In the first semi-final of ODI World Cup 2023, Team India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs. With this victory, the Indian team made its place in the World Cup final after 12 years. During the semi-final match, Team India’s star opener Shubman Gill was seen in a little trouble. Gill also had to leave the field due to his injury. Although he came to bat again, before the final match the fans are worried about whether Gill will be fully fit for the final match or not.

Big update on Gill’s injury

After winning the semi-final match against New Zealand, Shubman Gill revealed that he had suffered a muscle strain while batting. After the match, Gill said about his fitness in the press conference, it started with cramps and I got a strain in my hamstring. It was humid there and there were also the after effects of dengue. I will be fine for the finals. On missing his century due to cramps, Gill said that if I had not had cramps, I could have scored my century. But still, we reached the score we wanted. We were expecting to reach around 400 runs. It doesn’t really matter to me that I failed to score a century. It is a good thing for the fans that Gill will play the final match.

What did Gill say about the match

Talking about the Daryl Mitchell-Kane Williamson partnership that brought the Kiwis back in the semi-final match, Gill said he knew it was going to be challenging, especially in the light. When the new ball becomes old it becomes difficult for the bowlers to restrict the runs. He further said that we wanted to bowl in the right areas and wait for the batsmen to make mistakes. The partnership between Daryl Mitchell-Kane Williamson was challenging.
