The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday said it has signed a hosting rights agreement with the ICC for the 2025 Champions Trophy in Dubai. The agreement for this tournament was signed by Zaka Ashraf, who currently heads the Cricket Management Committee that runs PCB affairs. The agreement was signed by ICC General Counsel Jonathan Hall along with PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf at an event at the ICC Headquarters, the PCB said in a statement. Pakistan last hosted an ICC tournament in 1996. At that time Pakistan had hosted the ODI World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka.
Why is this matter related to Team India?
India may face problems in hosting Pakistan. Actually, the Indian cricket team has not toured Pakistan since 2008. The Indian team is not being allowed by the government. The Indian government has taken this decision due to the deteriorating relations between India and Pakistan in the last few years. This year, the hosting of Asia Cup was also in the hands of Pakistan, but this tournament for Team India was played on hybrid model. In such a situation, Team India played all its matches in Sri Lanka.
