Shikhar Dhawan recently surprised everyone by announcing his retirement. After this, Dhawan made a big announcement of playing in the upcoming season of Legends League Cricket i.e. LLC. Following in Dhawan’s footsteps, now former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has made a big announcement. After Dhawan, now Dinesh Karthik will also be seen playing in Legends League Cricket. Karthik had announced his retirement from cricket on his birthday in June this year. But now he has shared the news of joining LLC with the fans. In this way, the pair of DK and Gabbar will be seen rocking LLC.
On joining Legends League Cricket, Dinesh Karthik said that playing in this league is something he was eagerly waiting for after his retirement. He said that he is mentally and physically ready for this challenge and is looking forward to playing the kind of cricket that he always enjoyed. He thanked his fans for their constant support and said that he will once again be seen entertaining on the field.
DK had a great career
Dinesh Karthik represented the Indian team in all three formats but could not play many matches. He scored a total of 3463 runs in 180 international matches with the help of a single Test century and 17 half-centuries. Karthik’s record behind the wicket was excellent. As a wicketkeeper, he took 172 catches.
Karthik finished his IPL career with 4842 runs in 257 matches, scoring 22 fifties. Karthik’s IPL career lasted almost 17 years, in which he was a part of 6 franchises. He made his debut in the first season with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2008. He then moved to Punjab in 2011 and then played for Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders and RCB.
Gabbar and DK’s pairing will do wonders
Cricket fans will now be eagerly waiting to see DK playing in LLC with Shikhar Dhawan as both the players are known for their explosive batting. It will be interesting to see whether both the batsmen are able to repeat the success of IPL in this league or not. The next season of Legends League Cricket will start in September 2024, in which many retired cricketers will participate. The auction of LLC will be held on 29 August in New Delhi in which bids will be placed on 200 retired cricketers.
