WPL 2024: Pakistan cricket team has been searching for a head coach for a long time. The head coach of the team had left the post after the shameful performance in the ODI World Cup played in India. Since then the team is facing a lot of problems. Pakistan recently won only one match on the tour of Australia and New Zealand. Meanwhile, PCB is searching for a foreign coach. Under which a proposal was sent to Shane Watson to become the head coach. He refused this offer. After this, another international cricketer has rejected the offer of becoming the head coach of Pakistan. Due to which PCB has suffered a severe blow. This former player is none other than Darren Sammy who has refused to become the coach of Pakistan cricket team.

Sammy said this

Darren Sammy has rejected the offer to become the head coach of Pakistan, due to which PCB’s search for a foreign coach is still not over. Sammy told the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) that he is already contracted with the West Indies Board as the head coach of the limited overs team. Watson was upset that details of his proposed package were revealed in the Pakistani media and social media. He returned home on Saturday night after rejecting the PCB’s offer. A source in the know said senior PCB officials had held talks with Watson in Karachi during the PSL matches and offered him the head coach position.

For this reason Watson refused

In the Pakistan team quote case, the source said that Watson had initially shown interest and had put forward some money and other conditions for accepting the offer. After the board more or less accepted Watson’s monetary demands, the former player was unhappy that details of his proposed package were leaked to the Pakistan media and social media. Watson then declined the offer, citing his prior commitments as a commentator in the IPL (Indian Premier League) and Major Cricket League (USA). Along with this, he wants to give more time to his family in Sydney.

According to Pakistani media, PCB had agreed to pay Watson two million dollars (about 16.60 crore Indian rupees) annually. The board now wants to appoint a domestic coach on an interim basis for the five-match home T20 International series against New Zealand starting on April 14.
