The decision not to play in IPL was difficult
Harry Brook wrote in a post on Instagram about not playing in IPL 2024 that I want to inform that I have decided not to play in the upcoming season of IPL, which was very difficult for me. I was very excited to play for Delhi Capitals team this time. There was no need for me to personally tell anyone about this decision of mine, but people would ask why, that is why I am telling everyone about it. I lost my grandmother last. He was very important in my life and I spent most of my childhood at his place. Whenever I was at home, there was never a day when I did not see him. I am happy that he has seen me playing for the England team.
Brook did not come to play test series even during India tour
The England team’s recent tour of India ended with a 4-1 defeat in the 5-match Test series. Harry Brook was involved in the England team camp in UAE before the start of this tour, but during that time he returned home due to personal reasons. However, at that time not much information was given by the ECB regarding this decision. Brook was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the last season of IPL, but due to his inability to perform well with the bat, the team released him.
