Ravichandran Ashwin On MS Dhoni: Ravichandran Ashwin is counted among the great spinners of the world. He has been famous for carrom ball, which is not easy for any batsman to avoid. When he is in rhythm, he can destroy any batting attack. Ashwin played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL from 2008 to 2015. R Ashwin has still not forgotten the trust shown by Mahendra Singh Dhoni by handing him the new ball in the IPL 2011 final against Royal Challengers Bangalore which gave a new direction to his career and for this he considers himself indebted to the former Indian captain.

That magical night at Chepauk for Chennai Super Kings was just the beginning for Ashwin and since then, in a tumultuous decade-long journey, he has played 100 Tests and taken 516 wickets in the Test format.
Because of this Dhoni became a debtor
Ravichandran Ashwin said that I will be indebted to Dhoni for the rest of my life for what he gave me. He gave me a chance with the new ball while Chris Gayle was in front and after 17 years Anil Bhai will talk about this incident. Chennai team included Ashwin as a local spinner in 2008 but because of Muttiah Muralitharan, he did not get a chance to play even a single match. This 37 year old bowler from Chennai reached here by continuously improving himself.
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association honored
Ashwin has not forgotten the moment when Dhoni showed faith in him during a felicitation ceremony organized by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association to celebrate the double achievement of 500 wickets and 100 Tests. TNCA honored Ashwin with an award of Rs 1 crore for his achievements. Ashwin became emotional and said that I generally do not look for words to express my feelings. I am truly grateful for this honor of being here.
