India vs Afghanistan T20 Series: The second T20 match between India and Afghanistan will be played tomorrow on 14 January. The Indian team had won the first T20 match by 6 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series. The young players had performed strongly in the first T20 match. Whereas Shivam Dubey played a explosive inning and led Team India to victory. Virat Kohli did not play in the first T20 match due to personal reasons. Now according to PTI report, Kohli is ready to make a comeback in the second T20 match and it is considered almost certain that he will play in the playing eleven. But with Kohli’s return, a sword has hung over a star player.

Virat Kohli will return

Virat Kohli has emerged as the biggest match winner for Team India in the last decade. Whatever may be the situation of Team India, if Kohli is at the crease then India’s victory is possible. Now if Kohli plays at number three in the second T20 match, then Tilak Verma may have to be out of the playing eleven. Tilak has not been able to show strong performance for some time and has proved to be a flop.

This player’s place is in danger

Tilak Verma had made a great start by scoring 39, 51 and 49 not out in the three-match series against West Indies last year but after that he could score only one half-century in the next 13 innings. These figures will not be enough for this 21 year old batsman and he needs to play big innings. He has currently scored 336 runs in 16 T20 matches for the Indian team. But now it seems difficult for him to make a place in the playing eleven.

These players would like to perform well

The Indian team does not have to play any other T20 series before the World Cup to be held in June. In such a situation, the performance against Afghanistan is very important. Jitesh has put himself ahead in the race for wicket-keeper batsman, leaving Ishan Kishan behind. He has played some useful innings in the lower middle order and will look to play big innings to stake his claim. On the other hand, players like Shubhman Gill, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh and Axar Patel would also like to show a good game, so that they can strengthen their claim for T20 World Cup 2024.
