Brendon McCullum on Virat Kohli: Virat Kohli was out of the Indian team due to personal reasons in the first two matches of the Test series being played between India and England. Due to his absence, there does not seem to be any strength in the batting lineup of Team India. The England team also took full advantage of this and defeated Team India in the first match. However, the Indian team made a strong comeback in the second match and leveled the series at 1-1. Meanwhile, news came that Virat Kohli can join Team India’s squad from the third test match.

Virat Kohli has not yet returned to Team India and his fear is visible in the England team. While answering a question asked about Virat Kohli, England head coach Brendon McCullum has said something which clearly shows that there is fear in the opposing team about Virat Kohli. He said that Virat has been seen as one of the greatest players of the game. There’s no doubt that it makes this team better. As we have already said, the depth of Indian cricket and the talent in India is immense. Therefore, we respect every opposition player.
What did McCullum say on Virat Kohli?
McCullum expressed respect for Kohli’s ability and competitiveness and talked about the challenge his arrival would pose to the English team. He said, “We hope everything is fine with his family. If Virat is coming back, we are looking forward to that challenge as well. He is a great competitor. I know him very well and I have enjoyed playing against them, I have enjoyed playing against our team and if you get success against the best, I am sure you have earned it.

Earlier on Monday, India head coach Rahul Dravid had provided an update about Virat Kohli’s possible return to the team for the remaining three Test matches against England, saying, it would be best to ask the selectors. He had said that “I think it is best to ask the selectors about Virat. I am sure they are the best people to give answers before the team selection for the next three Tests. We will get to that. I am sure. That the selection will be done in the next few days. We will contact Virat and find out.
