IND vs ENG: The closely contested five-match Test series between India and England is reaching its final stage. The fourth match of the series will be played in Ranchi. Team India, which is leading 2-1 in this Test series, would like to win the fourth match and win the series, while the England team will be eyeing to level the series so that a decision can be taken in the fifth match to be played in Dharamshala. Both the teams are set to face each other in the fourth match from February 23 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. In such a situation, the fans have full expectations of an exciting match.

During the first three Tests of this series, the pitches were quite similar and the batsmen and bowlers got equal amount of support from these pitches. However, the pitch may be different in the fourth Test as England aim to make a comeback to stay in the series. England vice-captain Ollie Pope viewed the pitch on 21 February and said that it was very flat and did not necessarily look like a batting wicket at the moment. On the other hand, England captain Ben Stokes had also said about the pitch that he had never seen such a pitch in India before. In such a situation, let us know how the pitch could be in the fourth test match.

JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi Pitch Report

The pictures of the pitch that have surfaced before the fourth Test match clearly show that there are many cracks in the wicket and it will not take much time for these cracks to widen. Pope also told the media that on one side there is roughness outside the off stump of a right-handed batsman and on the other side there is the same roughness outside the off stump of a left-handed player. By the end of the second and third day, the roughness will turn into bigger patches and the spinners will get a lot of help in the game. Batting first in this match may be the best way to take advantage of the fresh wicket as chasing in the fourth innings will be extremely difficult.
