India vs South Africa

The first match of the 2-match Test series between India and South Africa starting from December 26 will be played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Everyone’s eyes are on the pitch of this match, regarding which the pitch curator Brian Bloy has now made it clear in his statement that the dominance of fast bowlers can be seen in this match. Apart from this, the curator also gave information about the weather and said that there may be a lot of rain in the first 2 days of this match, due to which spin bowlers can also get help from this wicket due to the drop in temperature.

batting will not be easy

Bloy, the pitch curator of Centurion’s SuperSport Park, said in a statement to PTI that the temperature during this Test match could be around 20 degrees, which is currently around 34 degrees. I don’t know much about the situation because I can’t say anything about whether the game will be played on the first day or not. However, the weather is expected to remain clear from the third day. In such a situation, if the pitch remains covered then the team batting first may have to face difficulties. I can’t guarantee the weather forecast but if the pitch remains covered for a long time then it will be very difficult to bat first. If the game starts early in the morning on the third day, we will not get much time. If the pitch remains covered for 2 days then I believe it will benefit the bowlers. There is grass on the wicket and we have two more days. I am happy that there is uniform grass on the pitch which is a good thing.

This was India’s record in Centurion

If we look at the record of Team India in Test cricket at SuperSport Park in Centurion, they have faced defeat in 2 out of the three matches played here so far. India played a Test match here for the first time during the 2010-11 tour and lost by an innings and 25 runs. After this, Team India had to face defeat by 135 runs in the test match played on the tour of 2017-18. Whereas during the 2021-22 tour, India had defeated Africa in the Test match by 113 runs on this ground.
