The BCCI had earlier clarified that despite the clash with the upcoming general elections, the 17th season of the IPL will be played in India like the last time. According to reports, BCCI is still awaiting several approvals from the Union Home Ministry and the Election Commission to organize the upcoming season of IPL in India.
Earlier, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had said that the upcoming season of IPL is scheduled to start on March 22 and despite the Lok Sabha elections being held simultaneously in 2024, it will be played entirely in India. News agency PTI had earlier quoted Dhumal as saying that we are starting the tournament from March 22. We are working closely with government agencies and will be the first to release the initial program. The entire tournament will be held in India.
