Now the new captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad team, Pat Cummins has also joined his team on the morning of March 19, the update of which has been given by the franchise itself through its social media post. Cummins was made a part of their team by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20 crore 50 lakh in the player auction process for the 17th season of IPL. Since then, it was considered almost certain that he would become the captain. In the beginning of March, the franchise announced the appointment of Cummins as captain in place of Aiden McCram.

Keeping in mind the preparations for the upcoming season of IPL, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team is currently practicing at its home ground, in which many important players of the team are part of this camp. It mainly includes Henrik Klaasen, Travis Head and McCram, in which the team has also played practice matches among themselves. This time many big changes will be seen in the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which along with the captaincy, new faces will also be seen in the support staff of the team. This time, former New Zealand team captain Daniel Vettori will be seen in the role of head coach for the franchise. Pat Cummins had sought permission from the franchise to join the camp late, the main reason behind which was the recent end of the Australian team’s tour of New Zealand. Cummins has been very successful as a captain in the last one year, under his leadership, the Australian team has won the World Test Championship as well as the ODI World Cup title.
First match against KKR
Sunrisers Hyderabad team will play its first match in the upcoming season against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 23 at Eden Gardens. In the schedule released for the first phase, while the team has to play a match against Mumbai Indians at its home ground on March 27, the team will play against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on March 31. After this, on April 5, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face defending champions Chennai Super Kings at their home ground.
