Virat Kohli created a unique record 8 years ago, it is unbroken till date

Virat Kohli IPL Records : Cricket fans around the world are waiting for 22nd March. Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2024 will start on this day. On the first day, the teams of CSK and RCB will face each other. As soon as the name of RCB comes to mind, the first name that comes to mind is Virat Kohli. It is another matter that Kohli has now left the captaincy in IPL and in his place Faf Du Plessis is in charge of Royal Challengers. Meanwhile, we are telling you about some unique records of IPL. One such record was created by Virat Kohli in the 2016 IPL, which has not been broken till date.

Kohli will return to the field after a long time

Virat Kohli is going to be seen on the cricket field after a long time. Kohli himself had withdrawn his name from the five-Test series played between India and England. Meanwhile, he became a father once again. Now after a long break, Kohli will return on March 22, when his team will be seen facing CSK. Virat Kohli is a big player not only in international cricket but also in IPL. He has many records in his name, which have not been broken till now. This time too, fans are hoping that Kohli’s bat will move in the same manner as it did as captain in 2016. However, even after this the RCB team could not win the IPL title.

Virat had scored 973 runs in the year 2016

The year 2016 is still remembered for Virat Kohli of IPL. This year Kohli had scored 973 runs in a single season. Before and since then, no player in the world has been able to even come close to it, leave alone breaking it. Virat Kohli played 16 matches for his team that year and scored 973 runs at an average of 81.08. During this period his strike rate was 152.03. He managed to score four centuries and 7 half-centuries. This happened only once in 16 matches, when he was out on zero, otherwise in all the other matches he scored a lot of runs with his bat. He hit 84 fours and 38 sixes that year. From this it can be understood what kind of form Kohli would have had.

Shubhman Gill had scored 890 runs in the year 2023

As we have already told that no one has come even close to this record, breaking it is a matter of later. Till now no batsman has scored 900 runs in a single season of IPL. Shubman Gill definitely came close to this in the 2023 IPL, but then missed. Gill had scored 890 runs only last year. Whereas Jos Buttler was successful in scoring 863 runs in the 2022 IPL. David Warner had scored 848 runs in the 2016 IPL. No other batsman has been able to cross the 800 mark. Kohli’s team could not win the title even after scoring 973 runs, whereas David Warner won the trophy for SRH as captain even after scoring 848 runs. Now it remains to be seen whether this record of Kohli will ever be broken. Also, how will Kohli perform when he returns to the field.
