KL Rahul gets approval to play in IPL 2024

IPL 2024 KL Rahul: Before the start of IPL 2024, a big good news has emerged for Lucknow Super Giants. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has approved KL Rahul to play in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League. But the National Cricket Academy has also asked him not to do one thing in the initial matches of the league.

KL Rahul got approval from NCA

Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul has received approval from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to play in the IPL. But he has been advised not to take on too much workload in the beginning. The National Cricket Academy has advised him not to do wicketkeeping in the initial matches of the league. In such a situation, he can be seen playing as a batsman in the initial matches of this season.

Injury suffered during test series against England

Rahul was injured during the first Test match played against England in Hyderabad. There was a possibility of him joining the team for the third match but due to muscle stiffness he could not play in the remaining matches. Rahul recently posted a video of him practicing batting, wicketkeeping drills and fielding in the outfield at the NCA and now he is ready to make a comeback.

Can join the team on March 20

BCCI sources told PTI on condition of anonymity that NCA has given clearance to Rahul to play and he will join the team in Lucknow on Thursday, March 20. Lucknow team will play its first match on March 24 against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. He has been advised not to do wicketkeeping initially and will play as a batsman in the initial matches. However, Lucknow is not worried about his not keeping wickets as it has two good wicketkeepers in the form of South Africa’s Quinton de Kock and West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran.
