This player was out of the first test

New Zealand’s star opener Devon Conway has been ruled out of the opening test of the two-match series against Australia. Henry Nicholls has been called into the team in place of Devon Conway. Devon Conway is struggling with an injury to his left thumb, due to which he has had to withdraw from the first match of the series. However, it is not yet clear whether he will be available for selection in the second Test starting from March 8 in Christchurch.

Got injured during T20 series

Devon Conway suffered a left thumb injury while keeping wicket during the second T20 match of the recently concluded three-match series against Australia at Eden Park in Auckland. He is a quality player for us batting at the top of the order and I know he was really looking forward to this series.
