Faiz Fazal wrote in an Instagram post that tomorrow will be the end of an era when I will step on the field of Nagpur for the last time. Where my journey in first class cricket started 21 years ago. It has been a wonderful journey, filled with fond memories that I will cherish forever. He wrote that playing for both the Indian cricket team and Vidarbha has been the biggest honor of my life. Wearing a cricket jersey always fills me with great pride. Farewell to my beloved jersey number 24. You will be greatly missed.

As one chapter ends, another awaits. Saying goodbye to my professional cricket career is filling me with emotions. I eagerly look forward to embracing the new adventures that lie ahead.

Made debut under Dhoni’s captaincy

Faiz Fazal made his ODI debut for Team India in 2016 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This was his first and last ODI match. In his only ODI match, he played an innings of 55 runs. He is the only Indian player to score 50 or more runs in his only ODI match.

38-year-old opener batsman Faiz Fazal has scored 9183 runs in 137 first class matches, which includes 24 centuries. Apart from this, he has scored 3641 runs in 113 List-A matches, which includes 10 centuries.
