BCCI announced its central contract on Thursday. Where he took many big decisions. Among those decisions, it was also a big decision that Iyer and Ishan Kishan were left out of this contract. Both these players were part of the contract till last time. Meanwhile, India’s experienced wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has given a big statement regarding this issue. He has clearly said that if a cricketer does not want to play domestic cricket then nothing can be done ‘by force’. However, he also said that domestic cricket is the base and every player should give it equal importance to move ahead.

What did Riddhiman Saha say?

Regarding the exclusion of Ishan and Iyer, Saha said that it is the decision of BCCI and the personal decision of the players concerned. You cannot force anything. Both these players were part of the Indian team till recently. Both were also part of the team in the 50-over World Cup last year. Ishan was last part of the Test team during India’s tour of South Africa in December, while Iyer played the first two Tests of the ongoing Test series against England. Giving his example, Saha said that a cricketer should give equal importance to every match.

Saha said that whenever I am fit, I play, I have even played club matches. I always take a match as a match. For me all matches are equal. If every player thinks like this then it will be better for him to advance in his career and it will also be better for Indian cricket. Saha said that I think domestic cricket always has importance because if I talk about Sarfaraz Khan, he has scored a lot of runs in the last four-five years. Certainly he has performed well.

Dhruv said this on Jurel

Meanwhile, Saha termed the batting of young wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel as top class. Jurel played a brilliant inning of 46 runs on his debut in the third Test and after this he scored 90 and 39 runs in the fourth Test in Ranchi, due to which he was also named Player of the Match. He said that I have never seen Jurel play in domestic cricket, even in Test matches I have seen highlights of his innings but his batting is excellent, he won the last Test for the team.
