In the fourth match of the 5-match Test series being played between India and England, the Indian team failed to score 307 runs in its first innings. England had scored 353 runs in their first innings in this match, after which they managed to take a lead of 46 runs. In this match, England team’s young off-spin bowler Shoaib Bashir, who returned to the playing 11, was amazing with the ball in which he took a total of 5 wickets in the first innings of Team India. This was only Bashir’s second Test match and with this he has included his name in a special list in the history of England cricket.

Shoaib Bashir was given a chance to debut by the England team in the second Test match of this tour, but due to not performing as per expectations, he was dropped from the Rajkot Test. Now in the Ranchi Test, Bashir was included in place of Rehan Ahmed considering the pitch and conditions and he proved the team management’s decision completely right by taking 5 wickets while giving 119 runs in 44 overs of bowling.
