Shreyas Iyer, a part of Mumbai’s playing 11, did not come on the field to field on the fourth day of the game due to back pain. It was expected that he would come on the field for fielding on the 5th day but he was seen missing from the field on the last day also.

Shreyas Iyer went to the hospital due to back pain during the fourth day of the Ranji Trophy final and got it scanned. After this, he was also given some treatment, after which it was expected that he would become completely fit. According to the news of ESPN Cricinfo, due to lack of improvement in Iyer’s fitness even on the 5th day, he did not come on the field to field. Iyer had told about his back problem after the second match of the Test series against England but after that he was declared completely fit to play by the BCCI medical team. However, the selectors did not select Iyer in the team for the last three matches of the Test series.
KKR’s worries increased before IPL
There are less than 10 days left for the start of the 17th season of the Indian Premier League, so Shreyas Iyer’s back problem has increased the concern of Kolkata Knight Riders. Last year, Iyer had undergone surgery for the same injury, after which he was out of the entire last season of IPL. In such a situation, the fitness of their captain can become a big problem for Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR has to play its first match in the upcoming season against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 at Eden Gardens.
