The moment everyone was waiting for has arrived. The Indian team is ready to return to action after a long break of 42 days. Team India will be on the field against the visiting team Bangladesh from today i.e. 19 September in Chennai. Along with the Indian team returning to the field, the star batsman is also going to return to Test cricket after a long time. This star player is none other than wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.

Ready to play first test in 2 years

Pant is set to play his first Test in two years. He also gave a glimpse of his old game during net practice on Wednesday. It is not a simple thing to return to the top level on the cricket field after being seriously injured in a horrific car accident in December 2022. You will be surprised to know that Pant played his last Test match 632 days ago. Coincidentally, he played his last Test also against Bangladesh in the year 2022.

Pant is now all set to make a Test comeback against the same team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Dhruv Jurel impressed with his wicketkeeping and batting in the Test series against England earlier this year, but Pant’s comeback made it clear that he is Team India’s first choice in red ball cricket.

Rishabh Pant is a dangerous player

If the team management had decided to play Jurel for this match, no one could have blamed the team, but Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir spoke about the importance of Pant. The head coach said in the press conference before the match that everyone knows how dangerous he can be as a batsman and what he can do in Test cricket. He has scored runs everywhere around the world. It is always good to have a player like him who can pave the way for us to win the match and most importantly, he can also make a lot of impact. Rishabh Pant made a comeback in international cricket with the limited overs format. He was also a part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup, but now he is making a comeback in the long format.
