Just after the end of this match, he got the news of his selection in the senior team through phone. Sarfaraz told that I was getting ready to play in the Ranji Trophy and I had also prepared my bags. After this suddenly I got a call and came to know that I have been selected. I did not believe this news at all at first. My father was in the village and I immediately called him and told him this news, after which he became very emotional. I have only one dream in which my father wants to see me playing for the Indian team. After being selected in the team, I now feel that the hard work I have put in till now is yielding results and I am very happy about it.
I get emotional just thinking about joining the team
Sarfaraz Khan was staking claim for his place in the Indian team for a long time, but he was not getting a chance. Sarfaraz further said in his statement regarding this that thinking about his wait to join the team, I will get emotional and will shed tears. I remember my father saying that you just keep working hard and no one will be able to stop you from moving forward. It is a matter of great pride for me that I have become a part of the national team of a country where crores of people love this game. I am also very happy for my father.
