Unmukt Chand, who left India and settled in America, will complete all the criteria required to play for the US in international cricket in the month of March. He has almost met the eligibility criteria to stay in the US for 10 months a year for three years. Therefore, Unmukt Chand will be available to join the USA team 3 months before the T20 World Cup. While Unmukt Chand said in his statement on Cricbuzz about playing against India, this is something which will be very strange but ever since I have said goodbye to Indian cricket, my aim has always been to play against Team India. Unmukt Chand won the Under-19 World Cup for India in 2012, where he took command of the team. In the final of this tournament, he played an important role in making the team the winner by scoring a brilliant century against Australia. However, due to poor performance in domestic cricket, Unmukt did not get a chance to play for Team India.
America will face India on June 12
India and America have been placed in the same group in the T20 World Cup 2024, in which the match between the two teams is to be played on June 12 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Apart from Unmukt, two more members of the 2012 Under-19 World Cup-winning team, Harmeet Singh and wicketkeeper-batsman Samit Patel, have already fulfilled all the necessary criteria to play for the US team, so these two players will also be eligible for the T20 World Cup.
