Afghanistan has to play all the matches of the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at the stadium in Pallekele. Due to Rashid not returning, Qays Ahmed, who has played only 1 ODI match so far, has been included in the team as a leg spinner. Whereas Noor Ahmed, who is currently playing in the SA20 league, will also join the team. Apart from this, Najibullah Zadran, who was a part of the team in the ODI World Cup, has not been selected in the team for this ODI series, while Abdul Rehman has been included in the team as a reserve player. All-rounder Gulbadin Naib, who impressed everyone with his all-round game during the T20 series played against India in January, has returned to the ODI team.
