Team India created a record in T20 International

India vs Afghanistan 3rd T20I : It is difficult to even imagine what happened in the third T20 International match played between India and Afghanistan. No one would have expected that there would be so much excitement in the last match of the otherwise monotonous three-match series. ICC had already made the rules of Super Over. In which it was said that if the T20 match is tied, the result will be decided through Super Over. Even after this, if the result is not there then there will be a second super over. But this had never happened on the field before. Meanwhile, due to the rules of Super Over and its chaos, one such record was missed from your notice, about which you should know.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first.

When Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, it seemed that at least 200 runs would definitely be scored today. But opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli at number three and then Shivam Dubey and Sanju Samson were also out cheaply. I felt that if the score goes up to 170, that would be enough. But Rinku Singh took charge along with captain Rohit Sharma. Together, they first rescued the team from trouble and then took the team to a big score.

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh together scored 36 runs in the last over.

Meanwhile, when the 19th over of the Indian team’s innings ended, the Indian team’s score was 176 runs for four wickets. At that time it did not seem that the score would cross 200. But in the last over, the Afghan bowlers could not stand anywhere in front of the storm of Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh. Rohit Sharma hit two sixes and a four on the first three balls of this over. After this Rinku Singh hit three sixes. A total of 36 runs came in this over. Due to which the Indian team’s score reached 212.

For the first time, 36 runs were never scored in the last over of a T20 International.

It is not that 36 runs had never been scored in an over of a T20 International match before, but so many runs had never been scored in the last over. Before this match, the highest number of runs scored in the last over of a T20 International match came in the match between Zimbabwe and Scotland in 2021. Then overall 30 runs were scored on six balls. In the year 2023 itself, 30 were made in the match played between India and Australia. But the last over of 36 runs has come for the first time. This was the last over, when Team India completely captured the match and Afghanistan team went on the backfoot. However, the match remained tied and after this a double super over took place, in which the Indian team won.
