India vs England 1st Test: The 5-match Test series between India and England is going to start from January 25. The first match of the series is to be played at Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Before this match, the head coach of the Indian team has given a big statement regarding the playing 11. Rahul Dravid confirmed on Tuesday that KL Rahul will not play as a wicketkeeper in the upcoming Test series. In such a situation, it is now certain that one of the two young players present in the squad will get a chance.

The fate of these players is in the hands of Rohit

Rahul recently played the role of wicketkeeper in the two-match Test series against South Africa. But now it is certain that the new wicketkeeper will get a chance in the playing 11. There are two contenders for this place in the squad. These players are Dhruv Jurel and KS Bharat. Rahul Dravid has made it clear that in this Test series only one of these two players will be given the responsibility of wicketkeeping.

Dhruv Jurel awaits debut test

22 year old Dhruv Jurel has not played a single match for Team India yet. Dhruv has played Under-14 and Under-16 age group cricket for Uttar Pradesh. He was then selected for India’s under-19 team for the World Cup in 2020. After this, Dhruv made his Ranji Trophy debut for Uttar Pradesh against Vidarbha in 2022 and till now he has played 15 first class matches, in which he has scored 790 runs, during which he has included one century and five half-centuries. Dhruv has also played 10 List-A and 23 T-20 matches. At the same time, he played his first match in IPL for Rajasthan Royals in 2023.

KS Bharat may return

KS Bharat is in great form at the moment. KS Bharat recently scored a century against England Lions. In such a situation, he is a big contender to be included in the playing 11. KS Bharat has so far scored 129 runs in 8 innings of 5 Tests for Team India. At the same time, Bharat played his last test for Team India in June last year. In such a situation, he may return to the playing 11 after a long time.
