These teams made the first trade
The first trade in the history of IPL took place in the year 2009. It took place between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). Then the Mumbai team traded Ashish Nehra in place of Delhi’s Shikhar Dhawan. The trading amount for both these players was equal to the previous season. Last season, Dhawan was bought by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 12 lakh and Ashish Nehra was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.6 crore. In the year 2009 itself, Robin Uthappa went from Mumbai to RCB and Zaheer went from RCB to Mumbai Indians through trade.
Hardik Pandya is the third captain to be traded
Hardik Pandya is the third captain to be traded in the IPL. Before him in the tournament, in 2020, Punjab Kings captain Ravichandran Ashwin was traded to Delhi Capitals. In the same year, Delhi team also bought Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane. It was under the captaincy of Hardik that Gujarat Titans team won the 2022 trophy. The team had reached the finals of IPL 2023. Where the team had to face defeat from Chennai Super Kings.
Mumbai Indians paid this much price
Gujarat Titans team had bought Hardik Pandya for a price of Rs 15 crore. But through trade he moved from Gujarat to Mumbai. In such a situation, Mumbai paid Rs 15 crore to Gujarat in exchange of Hardik. Star all-rounder Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians was traded to RCB. For this, RCB has given Rs 17.50 crore to Mumbai. The trade of both these players took place a day after the IPL retention.
