Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement that Matisha Pathirana was not available for selection for the third T20I. Because this player has a ‘grade one hamstring’ injury in his left leg. The IPL source said it takes about two weeks to fully recover from a grade one hamstring strain. Therefore, it remains to be seen when Pathirana can join the team. At this time it will be very difficult to tell whether he will be available for the first few matches or not. But he is definitely in danger of being out of the first phase of IPL.

CSK team won the IPL 2023 title by defeating Gujarat Titans. Matisha Pathirana had played an important role in getting this title. He took 19 wickets in 12 matches. CSK included Pathirana in IPL 2022 as a replacement for Adam Milne. He took only 2 wickets while playing 2 matches in IPL 2022.

Chennai Super Kings’ star batsman Devon Conway will not be able to play in the first phase of IPL due to injury. This New Zealand batsman had recently injured his thumb in the T20 series against Australia, due to which he is not playing in the two-Test series. Conway was the team’s highest run scorer in IPL 2023 with 672 runs.
