Coach Dravid’s statement on the success of Team India
ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Team India’s victory march continues in the World Cup 2023. There was some concern before the World Cup about India’s middle order batsmen, especially KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, but head coach Rahul Dravid has given a big statement on the way they have performed so far. Both Rahul and Iyer had made a comeback after recovering from injury. However, he performed well and strengthened the Indian batting. So far Rahul has scored 245 runs and Iyer has scored 293 runs. Dravid said before the match against Netherlands that how your middle order performs in challenging conditions probably determines how you perform. Our top order performed exceptionally well, but I believe our middle order also played an important role.
Contributed significantly to the team’s victory
Dravid was not worried that Rahul and Iyer’s statistics were not as attractive as those of other batsmen in the team. He said that you cannot assess them on the basis of statistics. This will give you only one aspect of the picture whereas his innings of 30 and 40 runs are very important. Our middle order batsmen have played an important role whether it is Shreyas or Rahul or Suryakumar Yadav. Ravindra Jadeja played an important innings in Dharamshala.
