India vs South Africa

When the Cape Town Test match between India and South Africa was about to start, no one had imagined that the match would end within just 2 days. Only 107 overs were played in the entire match, after which it became the first match in 147 years of Test cricket history which ended so quickly. A total of 23 wickets fell on the first day of this match, all of which went to the fast bowlers. Now criticism is also being seen regarding the pitch of Newlands ground, in which former two great players of India and South Africa, Virender Sehwag and Dale Steyn have reacted to it through their posts on social media regarding the pitch.

There is no two day test match

Former South African team fast bowler Dale Steyn wrote in a post on social media about the Cape Town pitch that why are we so afraid of cracks? If you look at the wickets of Sydney and Perth, the cracks there are so big that you can park a car inside them and yet that Test match lasts for four to five days. It is not right that a Test match ends so quickly and you do not see any cracks in the pitch. Pitches get worse as the game goes on and so be it. A two-day Test is not a Test match.

If you do a miracle, if we do then the pitch is useless.

Regarding the Cape Town pitch, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag criticized it in his own way by tweeting, in which he wrote that if you do it then it is a miracle…if we do it then the pitch is useless. 107 overs and test match over. This proves that if the pitch helps the fast bowlers then we also have the same quality fast bowling attack. What a great start Bumrah and Siraj have given to the year 2024. Apart from Sehwag, great batsman Sachin Tendulkar tweeted congratulating Team India on this victory and wrote that best wishes to the Indian team for finishing the series on a draw. Markram batted brilliantly and showed how to play on a pitch like this. Bumrah, through his bowling, showed what line and length a bowler should bowl on such pitches.
