But there are four players who will not be seen playing in IPL 2024.
1. Ambati Rayudu
Chennai Super Kings’ star batsman Ambati Rayudu took retirement from cricket in May 2023. For this reason he will not be seen playing anymore. He scored a total of 158 runs for CSK in IPL 2023. He was playing for CSK since 2018. Ambati has scored 4348 runs in a total of 204 matches of IPL.
2. Ben Stokes
In the IPL 2023 mini auction, the team of Chennai Super Kings was bought for Rs 16.25 crore. After this he played only 2 matches for CSK in IPL 2023. He has also been troubled by his injury. Recently he participated in the ODI World Cup 2023, but he could not perform well. For workload management, he has decided not to play in the next IPL.
3. Joe Root
Joe Root was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2023. After this, he also played three matches in IPL 2023 and scored only 10 runs. But even before the IPL retention, he had decided not to play in the next season. For this reason, the Rajasthan Royals team released him.
4. Joffra Archer
Mumbai Indians bought Jofra Archer in the IPL 2022 mega auction for a hefty price of Rs 8 crore. But due to injury, he could not play in IPL 2022. After this he came to play in the year 2023. He took only 2 wickets in five matches. After this, the Mumbai Indians team released him during retention. After this, he did not give his name for the IPL 2024 auction because the ECB did not give him permission for it. The England Cricket Board wants him to participate in the T20 World Cup next year without getting injured.
