The year 2024 has not been good for the Pakistan cricket team. The team has seen a lot of changes since its poor performance in the ODI World Cup, while the team also faced crushing defeats on the tour of Australia and New Zealand. After both these tours, PSL i.e. Pakistan Super League was organized in Pakistan. After which many young talents of Pakistan emerged. Meanwhile, a player who has retired from Pakistan cricket team has made a big announcement and said that he wants to come back from his retirement. Announcing retirement and coming back after a few months or years has now become a common practice in international cricket. This has been seen a lot especially in Pakistan.

This player can take back retirement

Shahid Afridi did this several times, Ben Stokes did this to play for England in the ODI World Cup last year while Wanindu Hasaranga recently returned from retirement from Test cricket and was banned for two matches. Was. Now the name of Pakistan’s Imad Wasim can also be included in this list because if Pakistan needs him before the T20 World Cup 2024, then he is ready to come back. Imad had performed brilliantly in the recently played Pakistan Super League (PSL) by winning the trophy for Islamabad United under the captaincy of Shadab Khan. Batting lower down the order, he scored 126 runs in nine innings at a strike-rate of 128.57 and also took 12 wickets at an economy rate of only 6.6 in as many matches. Furthermore, he returned with magical figures of 5/23 in the final against Multan Sultans and played a crucial inning of 19 not out on the last ball to lead his team to victory in a thrilling match.

What did Imad Wasim say?

Speaking about his desire to return, Imad Wasim said that he would do so only when his country needed him. He said that I made my name playing for Pakistan and if my country needs me, I will be available. If not, I have no problem with it. He told the media that after my retirement, Shaheen called me but I told him that we will talk after PSL. The Pakistan selectors are soon to announce a pool of players for the training camp at the Army base in Kakul from March 25 and then from the same batch select the squad for the five-match T20 series against New Zealand at home. If Imad Wasim’s name is in that list, then he is ready to make a comeback from retirement. The T20I series between New Zealand and Pakistan will be played on April 18 and April 27. It will be played along with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and key Kiwi players will not be traveling on the tour.
